How a party QR code works

Three steps. Nobody downloads anything.

No app for guests. No account. No passing phones around. The album opens in the browser and fills up while the night happens.

QR code for a fotage event

The code is the invitation.

Scan / shoot / see. That is the whole guest flow.

  1. 01

Put the code in the room.

Table cards, the bar, the mirror, the group chat. The code is the invitation.

  2. 02

    Let the room shoot.

One scan, a first name, and they are in. Every photo and video lands at the quality it was taken.

  3. 03

    Watch it fill up.

New photos land in the album and on the big screen while the party is still going.

One night, six frames

From the first hello to the last sparkler.

Every photo here came from someone in the room. Nobody was hired. Nobody was asked twice.

A long wedding table set with flowers

7:12 PM / The table

Before everyone arrives.

The place cards, the flowers, the quiet minute before the door opens.

Glasses raised in a toast

8:46 PM / The toast

A speech, a clink, six phones up.

Six angles of the same bad joke. You'll want all of them.

A colourful birthday cake with candles

9:30 PM / The cake

Proof the candles were lit.

And that everyone sang, slightly out of key.

Friends dancing under warm string lights

10:58 PM / The floor

The photos no one remembers taking.

Usually the best ones. Always the ones you'd lose.

Sparklers glowing in the dark

12:14 AM / The sparklers

The night doesn't end when the lights come on.

Neither does the album.

Three cups of coffee held together the next morning

Coffee in one hand. The whole night in the other.

Nobody had to send you anything.

The live wall

Put the party on the big screen.

Open the live wall on any TV or projector. New photos appear the moment they are added, with your QR code always in the corner so more people join.

  • Any TV with a browser, or a laptop plugged into one.
  • New photos land in seconds, not after the party.
  • Hide a photo or pause the wall whenever you want.

Why not just use the group chat?

Because the group chat squeezes your photos, buries them under 400 messages, and only reaches the people who are in it. And by Tuesday, everyone has stopped asking.

fotage keeps the originals, puts them in the order they happened, and gives the link to everyone who was actually there.

The morning after

You wake up to the whole night, in order.

Your rules

It's your night. It stays yours.

The photos are yours. The guest list is yours. The call on what stays is yours.

Create your album
  1. 01

    Only people with your code.

Your album never shows up in search. Guests see the photos, not a list of everyone who joined.

  2. 02

    You stay in control.

Pull any photo off the live wall in a tap, or pause the wall altogether.

  3. 03

    Originals, always.

Nothing is squeezed, nothing is watermarked, and everything is yours to download.

What is a party QR code?
A party QR code is one code you print or share that opens a shared album for your event. Guests scan it with their phone camera, add their photos and videos, and everything lands in one place. No app to install and no account to create.
How do I make a QR code for guests to upload photos?
Create an album on fotage, and you get a QR code and a link right away. Print it on table cards, put it by the bar, or drop it in the group chat. When guests scan it, they land straight on the upload page.Create your album
Can I use a party QR code for a wedding or a birthday?
Yes. The same QR code works for weddings, birthdays, engagement parties, reunions and any night people take a lot of photos. Each event gets its own album and its own code.Wedding QR codesBirthday QR codes
Does the QR code work on iPhone and Android?
Yes. Any phone camera that can read a QR code opens the album in the browser, on iPhone and on Android. Guests do not need an app or a particular phone.
Can I just make a free QR code myself?
You can generate a plain QR code with our free generator. It only points to a link, though. With a fotage album behind the code, guest photos and videos actually get collected in one place, at original quality.free QR code generator
Do my guests need to download an app?
No. They scan the QR code with their phone camera and the album opens in the browser. The first time they add a photo, we ask for a first name. That is it.
Are photos compressed?
No. Every photo and video is kept at its original quality, and you can download all of them.
Who can see the album?
Only people with your link or QR code. Albums never show up in search engines, and guests cannot see a list of who else joined.
Can I remove a photo?
Yes. As the host you can delete any photo or video, and guests can delete their own.
What happens after the event?
Uploads close, the album stays. You keep 12 months of hosting and can download every original at any time.
How much does it cost?
One payment per event, based on how many guests you expect. Guests never pay. See pricing.
