A seating chart that takes minutes, not an afternoon
Wedding seating charts get complicated because every change moves three other things. This seating chart maker keeps the guest list and the tables in one place. Paste names, create as many tables as the venue allows, and either drag people where you want them or press auto-seat to fill the emptiest table first.
Parties stay together. Write “Jon Adams +1” and Jon and his guest are treated as one unit that never gets split across two tables. Write “Maya Chen, College friends” to tag a group, and auto-seat tries to keep that group at the same table before it balances the rest of the room. If a party is larger than every table, it stays in the unseated list instead of silently overflowing a table.
Everything is saved in your browser as you work, so you can close the tab and come back. Use undo if a drag was a mistake. When you are done, the PDF export gives the venue a paginated table overview and an escort list sorted by surname, so guests can find their seat without a scramble at the door. The PNG export is handy for a planning doc, and the CSV opens in any spreadsheet.
Planning the rest of the wedding? Pair the seating chart with a QR code for guest photos: one code on the tables collects every guest’s pictures into one shared album, with no app and no sign-up.
Seating chart questions
How many guests should sit at each table?
Six to ten is the usual range for a round table, and eight is a safe default. Long tables often seat ten to twelve. Set each table’s seats and the planner flags a table when you go over capacity.
Can I keep couples and families together?
Yes. Add companions with “+1” (or “+2”) and the planner treats them as one party that is never split. You can also tag a group, such as “College friends”, and auto-seat tries to keep that group at the same table.
Does the tool work on a phone?
Yes. On a phone you tap a guest and then tap a table; on a laptop you can drag names between tables. Both paths edit the same saved chart.
Is my guest list uploaded anywhere?
No. The seating chart runs entirely in your browser and is saved in local storage on this device. Nothing is sent to a server, and the PDF is generated on your device.
What do I give the venue?
Export a PNG or a paginated PDF with a table overview, an escort list sorted by surname, and an unseated list when needed. The CSV export is handy for caterers who work from a spreadsheet.
Seats sorted. Now the photos.
Put a fotage QR code on each table and every guest photo lands in one shared album — no app, no sign-up.
